Whiskey and Ginger Truffles

Another classic recipe is adding whiskey and ginger to the truffle filling to make delicious truffles. We’ve left out the hazelnuts again but keep them for a later baking session so there’s no wastage! We’ve also shown you another skill to create the truffles with a rather impressive rustic look rather than smooth swirls of the lime and vodka truffles.
Whiskey and Ginger Truffles

You will need:

  • A milk chocolate truffle kit with the recipe card
  • 4g ground ginger
  • 25ml of whiskey
  • A wire rack

Use the recipe card from the kit,  follow step one to  melt the milk      truffle filling in the microwave for 30  seconds. Then add the ground ginger and whiskey to the  truffle filling and stir until combined.

Pour the filling into the piping bag and follow step 2 to fill the truffle shells. Put them in the fridge to set for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes follow step 3 of the recipe card and melt the chocolate buttons. Instead of rolling the truffles in the hazelnuts we had a go at creating a rustic look to the outside of the truffles! To do this, take some of the melted chocolate in your hand and roll the truffle around to coat it fully. You can use gloves if you wish or use your hands (this will be a bit messy!). Put the truffles on the wire rack and using a fork push the truffle along the wire rack. This will create the rustic spiky look to the truffle. Leave the truffle where it is and take the next one and follow the same process. The truffles will set within approximately 15 minutes.
